Early Streamer Systems
There are several Lightning Protection Systems which are extensively used world-wide, which do not form part of the current British Standard BSEN 62305:2011. These systems provide an alternative solution to protecting structures where the installation of a British Standard System may not be feasible or viable option.
The benefits of an Early Streamer Emission Device system include:
- More aesthetically pleasing. The ESE System only requires 2 down conductors and earth terminations to provide a path to earth.
- Cheaper to install and maintain. As roof conductors, down conductors and earth terminations are less in number the cost of maintenance is reduced.
- As the number of roof conductors, down conductors and earth terminations are reduced, the system has a low carbon footprint (Based on using the Carbon Trust Methodology).
